    Who we are looking for:

     

    F&R is seeking an Environmental Group Leader (EGL) for our Baltimore, Maryland location! This position will lead all of its respective territory’s environmental growth and sustainability efforts with a specific focus on strategic planning aimed at seizing market share and breaking into new markets. The territory includes the Hunt Valley office area and the Jessup office area.  The successful candidate will guide the environmental services group to meet short and long term goals by demonstrating technical expertise and strong collaborative leadership skills. The selected candidate will work in a management role overseeing environmental staff conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and hazardous materials assessments (i.e., asbestos, mold, lead, etc.).  The EGL will also perform technical/field work on an as needed basis.

    Responsibilities

    What you’ll be doing:

     

    Including, but not limited to:

     

    • Manage and conduct mold, indoor air quality, and hazardous materials inspections
    • Manage and conduct site assessments, soil and groundwater sampling
    • Prepare Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
    • Consult with clients to determine their needs and provide advice
    • Write technical reports and proposals
    • Train and advise technicians, staff and lead scientists
    • Manages Clients and Business development opportunities
    • Acquires new work and clients
    • Serves as technical lead on projects for the branch and company
    • Collaborates with the Branch Manager, other branches, the Director, and Practice Leaders
    • Performs annual reviews and assesses performance management
    • Accepts responsibility for the local environmental P&L, business plan, and business development planning
    • Be willing to participate in occasional overnight travel, night, and/or weekend work
    • Be willing to work from the City of Baltimore office a minimum of three (3) days per week and travel throughout the MD territory daily

    Qualifications

    What you need to have:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline and at least ten years of consulting experience, at least five years of business development experience and demonstrated to excel in operations/personnel management.
    • Maryland Asbestos Inspector and Lead Inspector Licensing preferred.
    • Professional Registration (PE, PG, GISP, PWS, CIH) preferred.
    • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance practices.
    • Proficiency with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
    • Collaborative business partner who balances the integrity of sound environmental practices with needs of the business.
    • Excellent research, writing, organizational, and language skills.
    • Excellent communicator who is comfortable educating potential clients about F&R’s strengths.
    • Be a team player who is self-motivated and reliable.
    • Some travel will be required
    • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
