    Who we are looking for:


    F&R is seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist for our home location in Richmond, VA! The selected candidate will work in a support role conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and performing environmental field sampling.

    Responsibilities

    What you’ll be doing:


    Including but not limited to:

    • Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
    • Perform soil and groundwater sampling
    • Write technical reports and proposals
    • Be willing to participate in occasional overnight travel, night, and/or weekend work

    Qualifications

    What you need to have:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
    • Some experience in relevant field preferred but not required (6 months or more)
    • Proficiency in Environmental Field sampling techniques preferred but not required
    • Experience performing Phase I and Phase II ESA’s preferred, but not required            
    • Proficiency with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
    • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance practices
    • Excellent research, writing, organizational, and language skills
    • Be a team player who is honest, self-motivated and reliable
    • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record required
    • Excellent written/oral communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task and meet project requirements/deadlines
    • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
