    The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to quickly learn the ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, and state DOT standard test procedures to be able to carry out the basic laboratory procedures required for this position. In-house training will be provided by the company


    Including but not limited to:


    • Performing basic laboratory tests on soil, concrete, asphalt and preparing reports of results
    • Maintaining a log of all samples
    • Apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, and inspect constructed work
    • Entering test results into a web-based computer program
    • Make recommendations as needed for procedures in the field
    • Performing basic equipment calibrations
    • Communicating with clients, contractors, engineers and technicians regarding construction issues
    • Occasional travel to sites/other labs may be required


    Including but not limited to:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Six months or more of experience in similar field
    • ACI Level I Concrete, state DOT, or ICC certifications in soils highly desired
    • Structural masonry, and/or pre-stressed concrete certifications also preferred
    • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
    • Ability to learn new concepts quickly
    • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. if necessary
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
    • Valid Driver’s License with good-standing driving record
    • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
