  • Overview

    This position will provide direct support to the Director of Landfill Services in preparation of proposals, logistical coordination, research and administrative functions.


    Essential Functions for this position include:

    • Coordinate and organize the proposal process and schedule on assigned projects.
    • Writing, editing, and producing accurate and persuasive proposals that garner new projects for the firm.
    • Conducts technical research using various sources to develop effective written and oral proposals and presentations of landfill concepts.
      • Identify and register with Counties that have existing solid waste facilities for bid/RFQ/RFP opportunities
      • Research facilities and maintain files for future RFQ’s
    • Assist with development of an internal/external solid waste education program for technicians and owner/operators.
    • Analyze requests for proposals to determine strategy for response including:
      • key requirements and expectations
      • proposal plans
      • schedules
      • checklist for compliance
    • Researching potential leads, clients, and competitors, to include identifying potential teaming arrangements and managing F&R’s sub-consultant data.
    • Work with technical staff and business development to update and maintain project descriptions, resumes, and other relevant materials for the environmental services group.
    • Prepares, communicates and maintains contractual documentation, project meetings, CQA observations, E&S inspection reports, pay requests, submittals, and general project correspondence.
      • Filing of project related data, correspondence, reports, etc.
      • Input data/reports into company’s web based reporting system
    • Set up new projects in the company’s project management system.
    • Answer phones and directs client inquiries to the proper staff members.
    • Compile invoices in the company’s accounting software.
    • Plan and prepare for Landfill training meetings held in and around the office. Planning includes:
      • Procuring location
      • Preparing adequate meeting spaces
      • Banquet Menus
      • Rooming assignment management (when necessary)


    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Specialty education or certification in office management preferred.
    • 5 years’ Landfill industry related experience highly preferred.
    • Ability to learn and use IN Design or other software for assisting with proposal responses, marketing materials and brochures.
    • Ability to learn and use CRM.
    • Must be proficient in general office software and equipment including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint publisher, Access, Adobe, fax machines, scanners, binding machines and copiers.
    • Must be available during branch office hours to respond to client and staff requests.
    • Must be pleasant both in person and when answering phone calls.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
    • Must be able to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines.
    • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals.
    • Must be detail oriented.
    • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background. investigation, drug screening and driving record.
