    Provides expert forensic analysis to our clients on an array of engineering projects.  Provides honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various property material, mechanical and electrical failures that result in property damage, injury, and occasionally fatalities. 

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions for this position include:

     

    • Planning and directing special projects and failure analysis studies on commercial and residential heating and cooling equipment, refrigeration equipment, large and small appliances, electrical equipment, gas fired appliances, excavation equipment, logging equipment, pneumatic machinery, and automotive and truck equipment and components.
    • Conduct load tests for in-service structures
    • Evaluate such products as chain saws; nail guns geotextile fabrics, storm windows, prime windows, scaffolding and heavy shoring.
    • Provide expert testimony as frequently solicited in cases of litigation. Expert testimony will be provided in a variety of materials, structural, mechanical, and electrical failure analysis projects.
    • Writes and submits detailed and accurate reports on completed projects in a timely manner in accordance with company guidelines
    • Will communicate with customers to provide timelines and project updates on a consistent basis
    • Other duties as assigned 

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field civil structural electrical or mechanical
    • Previous forensic experience is highly preferred but not required
    • Previous expert testimony or deposition experience highly preferred but not required
    • 3-5 years of related working experience is required
    • Experience with hands on engineering such as structural/mechanical/electrical investigations is highly preferred
    • Must be hands on and willing to climb roofs crawl in tight spaces etc
    • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and additional hours during periods of peak business demand and back log as deemed necessary by management.
    • Must be an active registered Professional Engineer PE in the state in which they are applying Multiple active state PE licensures especially in surrounding states are highly preferred
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written
    • Must be able to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines
    • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals
    • Must be detail oriented
    • Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites is required
    • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
    • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill travel requirements of this positon
