    F&R is currently seeking a full-time CADD Operator to join our Roanoke, VA Office.


    The essential functions of this position will include:

    • Work with computer CADD systems creating, modifying, and releasing detailed layouts, technical drawings, and for functional use in accordance with CADD standards from drawings, sketches, scanned images, and client drawings.
    • Communicate with project managers, engineers, and other CADD staff in order to create and revise drawings in accordance with project specifications.
    • Perform occasional site visits to obtain necessary specifications, including obtaining photographs and sketching
    • Print, copy, and organize CADD drawings as needed
    • All other duties as required.


    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience; intern, apprenticeship or paid work experience will be considered.  
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD required; most recent version preferred
    • Experience with Microstation and/or GIS software a plus
    • HS Diploma or equivalent; specialized education is preferred
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written
    • Must be able to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines
    • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals
    • Must be detail oriented
    • Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites is required
    • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
    • Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill travel requirements of this positon
